Mathical

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 7, 2026

This policy explains what we collect when you use mathical.co, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@mathical.co.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. Passwords are handled by our login provider and we never see them.
  • Your worksheets: the PDFs you upload, the questions we read from them, and extra-question PDFs you add.
  • Your practice: your answers, handwriting and sketches, photos of your work you choose to upload, hints you ask for, chat messages with the tutor, notes, and time spent per question.
  • Billing: whether you're subscribed and when it renews. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
  • Usage: how much AI each account uses each month (to apply the monthly allowance), and standard server logs (such as errors and IP addresses) kept by our hosting provider.

How we use it

  • To run Mathical: turn your worksheets into practice, check answers, give hints and feedback, and save your progress.
  • To manage your subscription and the monthly AI allowance.
  • To keep the service secure, fix problems and prevent abuse.
  • To send account emails (like sign-up confirmation) and payment receipts. We don't send marketing emails without asking.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who helps us run Mathical

These service providers process data for us, only to provide their service:

  • Supabase: accounts, database and file storage.
  • Google (Gemini API): the AI that reads worksheets and checks answers. The content of a question (text and images, including your answer or work photo) is sent to it when you use an AI feature.
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
  • Vercel: hosting the website.
  • Resend: sending account emails.
  • Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in with Google.

Some of these providers store or process data outside your country, including in the United States.

Students and parents

Mathical is made for high-school students. You must be at least 13 to use it. If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you need a parent or guardian's permission, and a parent or guardian should handle the subscription. Parents can contact us at support@mathical.co to review or delete their child's information.

Cookies and storage

We use cookies only to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember small preferences (like typing vs. writing answers). No advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and worksheets while your account is open, so your practice is there when you come back. Delete a worksheet anytime from the home page, which removes its PDF and progress. To delete your whole account, email us and we'll do it within 30 days. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information by emailing support@mathical.co. Depending on where you live (for example, under Canada's PIPEDA), you may have further rights, including complaining to your privacy regulator.

Security

Your data is stored with access controls so only your account can read your worksheets, and connections are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email.
